Quality Assurance in Textbook Development: a Touchstone in Writing the Quality Textbook Rahim Khan

As the journey of quality is the journey of continual improvement, that?s why the author has tried his level best to make the study as prolific as possible. The study is a quality step in the curriculum engineering because quality textbooks play a dynamic role in the holistic development of the young capital. The historical analysis shows that nations sustain their ideologies through curriculum up-gradation, synchronization, synthesis and innovation. Quality Assurance in Textbook Development is based on TQM approach in textbook development. The study is focused on the process of applying tools for quality assurance in developing textbook for primary level. In light of comparative study, analysis and benchmarking of the curricula and review of textbooks of different countries, attempt has been made to guide the process of textbook development through flow charts, fish bone diagrams, gap analysis and spider charts. The study also helps in need analysis, planning, development and evaluation of quality textbook development. Furthermore, the study provides some guiding principles which can be employed purposefully for quality textbook development at any level.
