Fatality of myocardial infarction is due to the cataclysmic effect of arrhythmia. Arrhythmias abound due to disorders of rate or rhythm and may be effected through impulse generation and conduction. This book dwells into tackling arrhythmias with the focus on evolution of present trends in antiarrhythmics. Arrhythmias are the commonest sequelae to myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular diseases. Anti arrhythmic drugs and interventions are being used to treat this major illness. Despite the effectiveness the antiarrhythmic drugs have been under the scanner for its side effects. Recently many drugs have been developed to rectify their iniquities. Mechanism of arrhythmias are being retraced and relearnt . Newer receptor sites are being hypothesized and identified accordingly which can be promising areas for manipulation in the treatment of arrhythmia.
