Beta keto esters are one of the basic building blocks from which many natural products can be synthesised. This book covers few important methodologies for synthesising beta keto esters from aldehydes, alcohols, diazo esters. Novel environment friendly methods using reusable zeolite catalyst is discussed. Transesterification of beta keto esters is also discussed. The mechanism dealing with transestrification of beta keto esters is discussed.
