Tecklenburg Land abounds in sights and unique spots which are worth seeing. Though small in size, its great variety of landscape and architecture as well as its pulsating life effectively make it Germany in miniature.
The rounded rock-capped ridges of the Teutoburger Wald are framed in the south by extensive parklands, in the north by moors and wetlands. In between these the Schafberg allows for human settlements and economic prosperity.
Sturdy village churches, quaint farmsteads, half-timbered houses and sandstone buildings characterize the region. And an ever-increasing number of holiday-makers and visitors throng to this area, drawn by its appeal and by the hospitality of first-rate gastronomy.
A dozen photographers have combined to present in impressive images the familiar and less familiar aspects of this region. Moreover five chapters deal succintly with the landscape, history, fauna and flora, agriculture, trade, mining and industry of Tecklenburg Land.
