Carolina and Ryan, teens from the struggling Mars colony of New America, find their way into the deeper reality of Focus Mars, a realm of horses, canals, giant insects, and feudal city-states. There they join a quest for the Stairway of Ice that leads to the center of space and time. The greatest knights, kings, and time tourists have assembled for the Quest. Some believe that they will find God at the top of the Stairway, others think that an elegant mathematical equation awaits them. But songs of Focus Mars hint that bridging the gap between the human mind and forces that hold the universe together will unravel all of creation.
