Ridicule, accusations, pain, and lies have been a part of Jillian Lewis's life for a long time. She has had to learn to accept loss, let go of friends who've turned their backs on her, and endure enemies who seem bent on destroying her self-esteem, and her sanity. When the new guy in town, Greg, meets Jillian the summer before senior year and pursues a friendship with her, it isn't long before he starts hearing rumors about 'the witch's daughter.' Jillian refuses to answer his questions and pleads with him to let it go. Reluctantly, he agrees. Soon enough though, the summer ends and school begins. Knowing she can't risk continuing their friendship, Jillian tells Greg that it's over. Shut out of her life, Greg watches from a distance as things escalate with Jillian's tormentors. But then when Jillian goes missing, Greg sets out to find her and to find out, once and for all, the truth about the witch's daughter.
