Seventeen, was the age I decided it was time to leave home and not look back but knew the long journey ahead is what I had to take. My mother had given to me all that she had for money and with heart ache and tears I left Malaysia with $30 in my pocket in search of freedom, lifestyle changes, new horizons, and hope that one day I would get to the United States where I would meet Mickey Mouse and learned to meaning of happiness. The $30 Journey, will take you from the street of Malaysia to Singapore to Catalina Island and New York to a dream fulfilled. Come take this journey with me as I share the hardships and victories across the countries sharing the diets I discover making me whole, the friendships of a select few until I found my victory and happiness.
