Imagine being 12 years old thinking about suicide, researching suicide, planning your suicide, and then committing suicide. It is a burden too hard to bear for anyone especially a child. This was my 12-year-old daughter, my Angel, Mariah Isaacs who decided to end her own life on April 28, 2017 due to bullying. Mariah's Voice is a book that you might not want to read but this book should read be read by every parent. This story will be hard to take for many of you, but there is a reason for this. My reason is simple, first, I want you to know what I had to endure and second, I want you to know why I had to endure it, then I want you to feel the pain. Then if you know the what, the why and feel the pain, maybe with this information you and I together can prevent another mother, maybe even you from enduring the pain that I must endure. You see there is nothing vindictive about this story. I am trying to use my sadness, my pain to help somebody. Mariah's Voice is also an organization dedicated to children. Its mission is to give kids the opportunity that was not given to my daughter. This organization will serve as a safe haven where all kids will be accepted, mentored, and most importantly heard. We will not only mentor bullied children but also mentor children who are actually doing the bullying. By providing great leadership along with many positive activities and fundraisers, we will reach a diverse group of individuals while bringing more awareness to bullying.
