Pain. Confusion. Sorrow. Those are the last things Emerson Matthews can remember when she wakes up in the hospital after seemingly being shot to death-just like the rest of her family. When she learns that the world she was living in isn't real, her life starts to spiral out of control. Emerson is tasked with killing the man running the simulation in order to save the country from destruction. When she learns she must go return to the simulation and face her worst fears, she begins to doubt the purpose behind her mission. Will killing this man save the country?
