This book is to help anyone who may be struggling with abusive relationships, peer pressure, and lack of direction. I can relate because I once was overwhelmed with very negative influences in my life. Fortunately, I figured out how to get through it all. We moved to Harlem, New York in the 80s when crack cocaine and AIDS were just beginning to show themselves to the world. I was eleven. We originally lived in The Bronx. I experienced a lot of negative things even before this. But, it was in Harlem that most of the tragedy happened. It was in Harlem where I became aware of time. It was there that I learned to think big. Dream big. It was in Harlem when I asked myself, what did I truly want out of life and dared to go after it. I wrote the one-woman show "I Didn't Cry" which has toured Public Schools in New York and Los Angeles, and Colleges. The play is based on the life of my older sister, Santa. As the narrator, I tell how I came to grips with her untimely death. This book is an extension of that play. My sincere desire is that my readers can come away feeling inspired and transformed, with full knowledge of what they can do to evolve and become their greater self. Thanks for reading.
