Authenticating Prayer: 21 Inseparable Prayer Disciplines, expands the author's study of prayer to demonstrate that some are failing in their prayer relationship with God for the same reason they fail at relationships in general. They do not understand the symbiosis of prayer and the spiritual disciplines that interact to make prayer a most powerful and formidable spiritual, supernatural weapon against the adversary or in building a strong spiritual life. Working together, these disciplines form prayer covenants that are essential to the development of a strong prayer life and to produce the harvest of our prayers. We would not get involved in any relationship with the expectation of a favorable outcome without acquiring the tools necessary to assure a successful return on our investment-that is not only our time and money, but our sweat equity as well. We can labor all night in prayer, but if we have not forgiven the sins of others, or come before God lifted up in pride or asking without thanksgiving, we do not understand the prayer relationship God seeks to have with us.
