Hans Kammler is hospitalised, the Schwartz Sonne under attack from a variety of enemies, and both Johan Kolar and Mary McGhee are captured after being pursued by American security agencies. Mike O'Connor wants his pound of flesh for the murder of his son at Kammler's direction. The prehistory of the Vrillya is revealed, along with the destruction of Atlantis. They didn't offend the Gods, but were destroyed by the power of the Great Pyramid, after attacking the world power grid and other civlisations of 12,000 BC. Is Hans Kammler too old to maintain his iron grip on the SS, or will he move aside for Oskar von Meininger and the newly born Schwartz Stein?
