Reading a history book published by two American professors, we found out that. "In 476 the last Roman Empror in the West was deposed by a barbarian chieftain." In the same book, we read that the ottoman Turks conquered the Byzantine Empire (Constantinople fell in 1453). The rich and civilized Romans and Byzantines did not succeed to assimilate the backward barbarians and the wild Ottoman Turks. It was the other way around! Nowadays there is a massive exodus of people (refugees and emigrants on economic grounds) toward the rich countries of the West. In this essay, we try to find out if there is a similitude between the facts shown above.
