Caden Alexander and Isabella Castle have lived down the road from each other for years.. Just as the two decide to stop denying their feelings for one another, Bella discovers Caden and her brother Landon have enlisted in the Marine Corps. Vowing to make things work while Caden is deployed, they begin writing letters to each other. When faced with a death he can't handle, Caden pulls away from Bella, swearing to never read another letter, regardless of what they might contain. Even though Caden stops all communication with Bella, she continues writing to him.
