Early one Saturday morning in River Rapids, West Virginia, six-year-old Cristel Epps disappears. As the local community tries to make sense of what has happened, three people find their lives changed forever: Daryl Epps, Cristels nine-year-old brother, becomes the subject of escalating neglect and abuse. Widow Georgina Campbell, last to see Cristel alive, must face long-buried secrets from her own past.
