It's 2080 and the International Space Agency has received a transmission from Alpha Centauri. Eight American astronauts are to travel to the Kuiper Belt to occupy a facility in a ball of ice which will travel halfway to the nearest star to meet the aliens. However, the astronauts discover they have been betrayed and are marooned. The four females become pregnant, two with uncommon DNA and give birth to exceptional children. A plan to return to Earth is developed which will take a year to complete. What will happen to the travelers and their children?
