The future is inevitable, unavoidable, and unstoppable as time itself.

Sometimes, it bursts through our doors, as loud and powerful as a freight train. On other occasions, it sneaks in almost undetected, invisible, quiet as a whisper. It is big on promises, rich in hopes and fears, and always full of surprises. Good and bad. The artificial intelligence (AI) revolution, which started in the 20th century, moves forward toward a destination that is still, generally, unknown to us. How far can it go? How far do we want it to go? Can we create a human-like AI? If so, can it be done without giving it human characteristics? Emotions? Humor? Fear? Anger? Envy? Loyalty? How will we interact with this human-like AI? Trust it? Use it? Fear it? Fight it?

How will it change the world that our great-great-grandchildren inherit from us? The world of transhumans, advanced humans who will be stronger, smarter, healthier, better-looking, and more talented than us. And, hopefully, not afraid of their artificial creations.

This collection of short sci-fi stories explores the future where humans and AI share not only the same space and time, but also jobs, needs, goals, and interests. A world in which they all coexist, collaborate, and, sometimes, collide.
