The man who possesses the former three without taking the initiative to lead, however, is worse than losing it in the death zone. How many churches are filled with men who love the Lord, but refuse to lead; deferring leadership to the pastoral team, anonymous Sunday school teachers, or famous podcast preachers.

Men don't defer leadership. Males do. Men accept the awesome responsibility of leading those they love, and coaching through life's adventures. At a glance, leadership seems like no big deal, but navigating down the mountain of leadership is a matter of life and death-the life and death for those a man loves.
