Cleo's mom disappears and with no other family she is all alone.

In order to survive she leaves the only home she's ever known, a run-down shack and hits the streets of the city. She can hide easily, blending into the crowds and eats scraps from the dumpsters. Her journey there spent jumping trains, running from menacing strangers and witnessing an unspeakable crime.

On the streets she meets a group of lost children led by a boy they call Einstein. For the first time, she feels like she's part of a family. The children resort to petty crimes in the name of survival. Cleo and Einstein fall in love, even as their little family falls apart.

Cleo and Einstein are ready to risk everything for a normal life and love. Will tragedy strike and deny them? Or will love and friendship prevail?
