Traded for One Hundred Acres is a real love story based on events that happened in the early 1800s.

Savannah Bowen, a beautiful sixteen-year-old, learns that her father has traded her hand in marriage to thirty-year-old Jonah Bell, for one hundred acres of land.

She is to travel with Jonah from Georgia to Arkansas by covered wagon, tending his three-week-old infant daughter, whose mother Clara, has just passed away in childbirth.
