When professional athletes walk away from their sport, it is usually not their choice. The decision is made because they can no longer perform at the highest level due to one or more factors, including injury, age, and/or de-selection. Very rarely do players get the privilege of walking away from the game on their own terms. But even those who do walk away on their own terms don't always have a plan in place for their post-playing career.




The road ahead is yours to chart. The ups and the downs are yours to face. But this journey of transition after retirement can be made easier with the help of others. You are stronger than you think. With hard work and intense introspection you will make it to the other side of your transition.




This book is about letting you know that transition is a process, and the process comes in waves. Transition itself is different for everybody. What I know for sure is that we all have to go through the process and we must be dedicated to it if we are to succeed.




We have to understand that change is about finding a combination of things that bring you happiness. That's what is most important.
