Asian Words of Success Steven Howard

People around the world have long turned to the writings and teachings of Asia's leading thinkers for insights on self-awareness, personal development, virtue, the importance of the family, and the need for continuous cultivation of knowledge. Today, the words and thoughts of Asian leaders - both past and present - can also teach the West and the East vital lessons in leadership, mentorship, coaching, continuous learning, and the cultivation of solid corporate cultures. "Quotations have always had the power to inspire me," says Asian Words of Success author Steven Howard. "When I was a child I started a collection of quotes on 3x5 index cards, and kept them filed in my own personal plastic box. Ever since I have been a collector of quotes, particularly during my 21 year tenure living in Asia." Within Asian Words of Success readers will find over 600 motivational quotations and phrases from some of Asia's leading thinkers: Buddha, Confucius, Gandhi, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Konosuke Matsushita, Lao-Tzu, Sun Tzu, and others. These quotations have been categorized into six sections, based on Howard's own reflections and professional experiences: Leadership, Coaching and Mentoring, Marketing, Customer Service, Personal Development, and Continuous Learning. But this is not to say that a quotation found in the Marketing and Customer Service section might not be equally valid to others as a Leadership or Personal Development motivational thought. It all depends on how you reflect on these Asian Words of Success. And that is what Howard hope's readers will do as they enjoy this book - and all the other volumes of the Asian Words of Wisdom series - reflect upon the words and thoughts of these Asian leaders. Howard's goal for all the books in his Asian Words of Wisdom series is to provide readers with motivational thoughts and quotes that will provide inspiration and motivation for your own growth and development. After all, as Confucius wrote, "To be fond of learning is to be near knowledge."
