Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Rodin Michael M Dediu

These great artists have very good aphorisms. Leonardo da Vinci: "It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things." "The natural desire of good men is knowledge." "Learning never exhausts the mind."Michelangelo: "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free." Every block of stone has a statue inside it, and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it." "The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark." "Painting is a music and a melody to be understood only by the intellect, and that with difficulty."Rembrandt: "Painting is the grandchild of nature." "Without atmosphere a painting is nothing."Rodin: "Patience is also a form of action." "Nothing is a waste of time, if you use the experience wisely."This book is focused on these artists, offering, in a chronological order (this chronological order gives the correct perspective of events and personalities at any given time, because the time determines everything), a variety of relevant information not only about them, but also about the numerous other personalities and important events, which took place during their remarkable working years. There are also many attractive and historic photographs, some of reproductions which we accumulated over the years - I want to thank my wife for her assistance. I want also to mention reports which show that Jeff Bezos works hard to improve Amazon's performance for its customers, and for its employees. This book brings a rainbow of practical information, and this will certainly enhance everybody's joie de vivre.
