The end of one year and the start of the next is a wonderful time for reading poetry, especially inspirational poetry.




The shortest or longest day of the year has always been a powerful metaphor for poets. Whichever hemisphere we're in, whether we're in a day of longest light or deepest dark, at this special time of the year, we know that things are on the turn. And we celebrate the human ability to welcome a new cycle.




That's the theme of this chapbook of twelve poems to inspire: beginning anew. It makes the perfect seasonal gift for yourself or another.




You'll find a poem here for each of the twelve days of the season. None relates directly to the story we've been telling for 2,000 years about what happened in Bethlehem on a certain December 25th, but all pay tribute to the spirit represented by Christmas--and Dongzhi, Hanukkah, Makaraa Sankr?nti, Meán Geimhridh and all the other mid-winter festivals.




These are poems that encourage us to rejoice in the human capacity for rebirth.




Immersing ourselves in meaningful words, we can reconnect with our own creative life-force. Feeling the light within, we can begin again.
