CONTENTION: The True Story of Politics and Religion, explains how man has evolved top-heavy with politics and religion so much so that his very nature, which only tended that way, was tarnished to such an extent that all his political and religious assumptions became his most confining prisons, leading to the most brutal and exposed muddle, mantled in power and glory: A sort of historic trap he was unable to escape from and was forced to use the very means which ensnared him for his expected emancipation. All struggles led back to confinement. Yet his road to hell was indeed often paved with good intentions.
