Alfred had turned the other direction after a long service with the Kings Hampshire Regiment, onto civvy street where kids back-chat elders and job centre staff sneer. Joel reluctantly now faces the great army machine; armed with a paintbrush, floppy hair and a haggard inertia.

This is the story of a father and son facing new realities in their lives: civvy to squaddie, squaddie to civvy. While trying to overcome a fraught relationship that has pushed their relationship to the brink. Yet, a tragedy awaits the Lundy family. A tragedy that could irrevocably split their bond forever.
