Mabel, a half Cherokee half Irish young woman in the Mississippi Territory finds herself dragged away from her wedding at gunpoint by a gang of outlaws known as the Rangers with the lead outlaw, Joe Collins claiming her as his own bride after he kills her new husband. Her position in the community as the translator for peace talks has somehow made her a walking target for some trigger happy men that will stop at nothing to see her hung for Joe's death. After being violated and injured, Mabel must fight to prove her innocence and find a way to bring peace between the Cherokee and the white men. Will her feelings of shame get in the way of her duty to both sides of the peace talks? Will she ever find a way to regain her dignity in a time when most violence against women is overlooked and often goes unpunished?
