Sarah takes a chance in hiring a sixteen year old girl, Carly Jenson to work at her cafe. Carly is alone in the world after the death of her grandparents and Sarah feels compelled to help her and is shocked to find Carly has ties to one of the people in her tight nit group of friends and family. Carly feels drawn to the small group of people and is surprised by Sarah's generosity. Sarah and Carly bond as they work through some of life's tough issues and find humor along the way.
