NAIOP South Florida, a commercial real estate development organization, recognized the winners of its 2016 Awards of Excellence including Rodrigo Azpurua from Riviera Point as The Creative Deal Maker of the year. Rodrigo is founder and CEO of a prolific investment and real estate development firms in Florida. His company, Riviera Point Invest + Develop, has completed office buildings and hotels in Doral, Miami, Orlando, Sebring and many other cities. Rodrigo launched his company during the US's worst recession in the mid- to late-2000s and, with limited resources, he grew Riviera Point into a multi-million operation. Learning from many setbacks, he rebuilt himself upon the Gospels and grew stronger. He is often invited to speak at conferences across the US, Latin American and Asia and interviewed by media outlets such as Forbes, CNN, Fox News, Miami Herald, Sun Sentinel, The Real Deal and many others. Rodrigo has a law degree from Universidad Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela; and is considered a pioneer in the raising of private equity from Latin America to fund construction of commercial real estate projects in Florida; authored a book in 2013, Real Estate Development and EB-5 Visas, explaining the federal immigration visa program that grants Green Cards to foreign investors.
