Atop the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountains, on the backside of Yosemite National Park, in a magical and incredibly beautiful pocket, are the Tuolumne Meadows. This is an area of sub-alpine meadows, dense coniferous forest, rock domes, boulders, mountains of rock, meadows of grass and flowers, snow and water, and more rock. The beauty of nature, seemingly so serene, is also a struggle for survival amid a savage landscape. There are many other mountain meadows to explore and use for this expose', but this area was chosen because of a memorable venture some years ago. Sorry to say, the tiny pictures fail in comparison to the real-life grandeur of being there in person. Still, take this journey, and let's look at the Tuolumne. This book takes a look at the ecosystem and life of the meadow and mountainous region, while the inspiring pictures invites you explore this magical land.
