Debu Hosali wielded a facile and forceful pen, which stood him in good stead as the editor and publisher of the widely acclaimed magazine Mysindia, described as a National Weekly with an International Outlook. In this refreshingly honest, entertaining and thought-provoking book, his daughter Arti Kumar (nee Hosali) reproduces selected columns written by Debu Dada in the 1960s and '70s. She then writes parallel articles to each of his columns from her own perspectives and experiences. Debu's forthright editorials and columns in Mysindia's issues won him recognition and many followers. Writing skills were only part of his multi-faceted range of talents, attributes and admirable achievements in many a field of human endeavor. His influential contributions to society in Bangalore during his years there from 1939 to 1983 meant that he was known as Hosali to some, Debu to many and Dada to everyone else, including to all his own immediate and extended family members.
