Gisli Sursson is a strong, soft-spoken young Norseman with a natural bent for poetry and no inhibitions about using weapons to maintain his family's honor. This re-telling of the Gisla Saga Súrssonar includes all the incidents described in the original saga, and expands the thirteenth-century author's arguments against traditional Norse societal norms and the Icelandic judicial system.
