Another Way... Choosing to Change: Facilitator Guide - Women's Edition provides facilitators with a strengths-based approach and research-based program for intervening with women who have used force against their intimate partners.

The sessions address gender-specific treatment needs using evidence-based clinical interventions and adult learning principles. Drawing from relational theory principles, the program is designed to guide participants toward healthy self-reflection and increased personal resiliency, while they explore safe and nonviolent relationship responses. Unlike many current models for abuser intervention programs, this program recognizes the value of trauma recovery, the need for emotional regulation, and cognitive restructuring as the participants learn to identify and employ the non-violent options available to them.

The guide progresses in tandem with the 52-week Participant's Handbook, providing facilitators with step-by-step instructions, suggested timeframes, and key strategies so they can confidently and competently lead participants through each lesson and each critical stage of intervention and recovery.
