Along this Quest for Elvenwood, Penoit endures the company of a temperamental, foul mouth, cynical, womanizing, young noble named Lafayette, and along the way meets Ironfang a towering Timberman, Groonard a half elf hunter, Vahdoorah a Vanadon who develops a romantic interest in Penoit, and Fersey Jay Sunlay a good nature dragon that likes to gossip. Like Penoit, each of them has to contend with their own goals and weaknesses and each other.
