Afrocentric Entrepreneurship Essentials is a book which motivates, gives insight on entrepreneurship in this technological age. The book starts by historically tracing enterprise in Africa before the arrival of the whites and explain its demise and rise, albeit in new forms. Chapter 1 traces black African entrepreneurship before colonization and argues that colonization of the mind resulted in the demise of traditional Afro industries. The authors does not dwell on victim hood and self pity and suggest African minds are no longer captured, its a choice to remain mentally colonized in Africa where opportunities and possibilities are endless. In Chapter 2, the author grapples with what is entrepreneurship, why enterprise is the in thing now and why ideas are followed by money, the author eventually discusses types of entrepreneurs and the idea that business is a team sport. Chapter 3 is a motivational piece where the author opines that in order to be entrepreneur its necessary to take a plunge! Chapter 4 debunks myths that work against the entrepreneurial spirit and suggest adoption of functional paradigms that are pro business. Chapter 6 discusses the essential skills and mind of an entrepreneur. Chapter 7 explains how businesses are systematized and replicated into other markets.
