From birth to death society fills girls and women with messages/lies about how we should look, act, and feel, and who we should be. We must take care of everyone else before taking care of ourselves. We should try to impress and fit in with others. We should be thin yet curvy and always wear makeup in public. And my favorite, we can "have it all." Women hear, believe, and internalize these messages. And it is draining us! This book contains short essays, each one exposing one of those common messages through a personal story. Each essay then provides an educational component and an exercise to help the reader replace that message/lie with a healthy truth.
