This is a collection of words. Words without a chronological order or underlying theme. It is the poems and prose of my life, my imagination, my dreams and my nightmares. It is not a work of art. What this is, is a raw collection of rhymes or rhythms, most very urban in nature. Some are so heavy on the angst, I wince even rereading them to myself. Some are so dark, I wonder how my mind imagined them. Some are humorous. Some are sweet. Some are just the ramblings of 3 am random thoughts. All are somehow a part of me. These are not funny little quips, softly polished poems with life lessons, or humorous jokes. Most of those will come out under my other name, Rates Goldfish, over time. Some of these are written during a depression. Some when I just have nothing to write. Some when I am happy and laughing at the world. In Poems in the Light of Day, the gambit runs from modern romance (?), humor, real life based fictional short stories, angst, and random thoughts. They are not sunshine and flower stories, though. They are raw snippets of life. In Poems from a Darkened Room, the poems run the course of horror and nightmares, dealing with subjects straight out of a horror movie or subjects involving demons and monsters. This book is not just a few lyrics. It is a collection. A collection of thoughts from the course of my life. Enjoy.-FW Malone
