The Book of the Damned, by Charles Fort was originally published in English in 1919. The work is the first of Charles Fort's four books, in which he discusses many strange and unexplained phenomena, some of which today would be categorised Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). He also gives many examples of other odd occurrences, such as rainstorms of fish, blood, and insects. Fort also creates a cod cosmological model to explain these strange phenomena. Proposing that the Earth's gravity only reaches 20 miles out, and that there are great lands in the sky above us. Where some are great wheels, and others massive sentient beings.
