You rent a ten room apartment (with fireplaces in the library and formal dining room) on Fifth Avenue for $700 a month-and not tell your husband. You dine at '21' for $5. Go dancing at the Stork Club. Meet Cary Grant, Gary Cooper, Katherine Hepburn, Tyrone Power. Hop on the SS Normandie and cruise to Europe. And bet on the 1938 World Series, horse races--anything--because you can't lose. The family who lives in 1938 at the other end of the time portal, could come to your house and watch movies that aren't even filmed yet, like Gone With the Wind and Casablanca. And use the internet, and get their polio shots. The only thing to watch out for: don't alter the future.
