June, 1994, Matt presented his sister with a choice for her fifteenth birthday present. She chose to spend a weekend at Disneyland with her biggest brother over much-coveted contact lenses; a decision that would lead to Matt meeting his future wife, Mo.




Matt and Mo's connection was as natural and undeniable as ocean waves, spawning a lively end-of-summer romance full of youthful infatuation and carefree innocence... until she needed to leave Northern California for UC Irvine in August for her senior year of college.




Quickly growing tired of the whole long-distance-relationship thing, Matt arranged for a 3-day bicycle trip down the California coast from the seaside resort town of Capitola to UC Irvine for an October visit.
