The last two pages include photos of real people who love their hair just the way it is, loc'd, bald, faded, braids and more. This book was created with the Author Michelle Anderson's son in mind. When he was 12 he made the decision to loc his hair. There were times he was accepted for wearing his hair Loc'd and other times he was teased. No matter how others felt about his hair, he liked it and continues to allow it to grow and flourish two years later. This book was designed for your child, no matter how they wear their hair to help boost self esteem and build confidence. It encourages African-American children to be proud of who they are. The goal of this book is also so that others will accept people for who they are and not judge them by the style, texture or length of their hair.
