His story begins with his graduation from college in the 1990s. Believing that he could make a difference, he goes to West Africa to work for an organization that provides clean water and sanitation. There, he meets Liz, a beautiful, brilliant, and rebellious girl who becomes the love of his life. She's an idealist who wants to save the world, but the two get their first taste of government corruption when local authorities, afraid of competition, force Liz to close her operation.

Their intentions hindered, they travel the world and discover firsthand how corrupt world leaders abuse power for their own gain, causing suffering in the process. They return to the US where Joe starts a software company making them billionaires. Now rich and full of good intentions, the pair set out to help those in need.

But when officials murder Liz in Zimbabwe, Joe creates a new organization to bring corrupt politicians to justice... by any means necessary. With his team of mercenaries, led by an ex-special forces operative and Liz's aunt, a fiery former-British diplomat, Joe makes it his mission to bring down corrupt world leaders. But is he seeking justice or just out for revenge?
