Could there be an unconscious awareness of the primitive self? Is there an unknown dark side of a personality, perhaps incubated within a shadow of a dormant lair in the mind? Is it hidden, or buried, beneath every diverse fear and insecurity waiting to be found? Drop explores the unchartered abyss within the subconscious. While being a dark journey into the heart of madness and evil, it also merges the frantic ramblings of a confused narrator who questions his every conscious projection as either paranoia, or even worse, reality. Drop is a dark fiction, rooted in elements of horror, but it also imbibes a comical madness as well. Drop is the story of a group of friends who find themselves spiraling out of control on a jolting and terrible acid trip. It weaves the possibility of a supernatural interference dooming the group into peril while simultaneously, through psychological and philosophical musings, explores good and evil. The narrator is wasted and fumbling through his thoughts, fearing some dark force is tearing its way through each of their minds because of a previous trip he had months earlier he believes to have been prophetic. He is confused and this spills into the storytelling as he rambles of this "demon" breaking through his "shadow" in his subconscious.. His paranoia persists and he soon recognizes the "demon" in his friends. His derangement is the basis of the narration, so at times the reader may seem confused as well - but the ending ties everything together nicely so that you can take a breath afterwards.
