My journey as a therapist began in 1996 as a MFT graduate student with a non-profit, shelter-based agency working with men and women who had abusive, dysfunctional relationships. As a licensed therapist, I started, with Ms. Ramos's help, a private corporation focused on assisting men and women build healthier, non-violent, more functional relationships.

To date, I've clinically assessed over 6,000 referrals (mostly court-ordered men and women who struggle with anger, partner aggression, and dysfunctional relationships). Further, I have over 10,000 hours running groups that help clients modify cognitive scripts, and stop their partner aggression. My interest has been on what may work in assisting these men and women to act more maturely and develop healthier relationships.

This book is a direct summary of what we teach. By taking the steps we discuss and doing the behaviors, you may create healthier, happier and more respectful relationships--not only with your family, and your partner, but most importantly, with yourself.

Mr. Bingham and I have worked together to create programs that allow clients to achieve healthier non-violent lifestyles. We started our company, Alternative Health Consultants in 2000, and have focused our programs on presenting tools and skills that, when used correctly, assist people in making life transformations. Ours has been and always will be a mission of unity, harmony and peace.
