The world can be a difficult place when one does not fit in. There are groups, cliques, gangs, couples, and clubs. What if you found that you could not fit in. What if the reason that you do not fit in is that your own brain tells you that you are different, strange, weird and perhaps not worthy. People who suffer from Social Anxiety experience this. Negative self-talk exists in an extreme form. Social anxiety causes the sufferer to see themselves as different from anyone else on the planet. The author, Lori, has suffered from an extreme form of social anxiety for the past 23 years. She has managed to overcome most of it although it lingers in her life from day to day.
