This book was written with the student in mind. I teach English as a second language to Chinese children online. They learn and retain information much quicker when they are having fun. As a teacher, I also enjoy teaching more when they are involved and happy. So I decided to help myself as well as my students by writing books which increase their retention. As an author who has written many books for elementary-aged children, I wanted to incorporate themed lessons into a fun, rhyming book where they can practice repetition and proper sentence structure. This series of books deals with the 5 senses- sight, touch, taste, smell and hearing. The reader will also be exposed to colors, shapes, numbers, letters, prepositions and pronouns while reading the story. It's written in a way to be more of a game than an assignment. The Educational goals of each book are listed at the beginning. Each numbered series builds on that knowledge so that new information is added with each book. ( So series 2 has more colors, higher numbers, more pronouns, etc.) At the end of the story, I list questions to gauge the reader's comprehension. These offer an encouraging way for the child to expand and reinforce what they remember. I hope teachers, parents, and of course- the students will love my Mohan Monkey Series.
