There are two goals for this workbook: The first is to increase the numbers of women in public office and to promote equal representation so that women will hold half of the political offices in this country. The second is to encourage you to fill out this workbook and consider running for office. There are training sessions for women who have already decided to run. But this workbook is for women who are considering the option of running or who have been encouraged by others to run. We are used to hearing the same reasons why women don't run and there are countless research papers documenting them. That research and those reasons are confronted head-on by providing you with questions that focus on the internal and external barriers, the myths, and the tools and successes that women politicians have used to succeed.
