In April 1942, Europe reeled from the Nazi onslaught. Europe, aside from Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, and Portugal, had fallen, North Africa was invaded, and Germany had driven deep into Russia. England was on its heels and had yet to mount large scale air raids against the Third Reich. America's intelligence services struggled with the reality of what they faced. This novel commences in April of 1942 with the insertion, by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), of Captain Cliff Bauer, USMC, secret agent into Berlin for the purpose of executing Operation Zeus, the assassination of the Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler.
