Raising a child with special needs is not easy. Our journey has been filled with many unexpected stops along the way. I have seen things and been to places I never would have imagined I ever would be. I have sat in the front of an ambulance racing down the highway, I have walked into IEP meetings to a standing room only atmosphere and I have slept more often than not on my child's bedroom floor. As bad as some days are however, I cherish the good days. These are days filled with laughter, excitement and happiness. These are the days we look back on and know how blessed we are. As Kelsey starts transitioning into adulthood we have more good days than bad ones. Unlike the start of our journey when we felt lost and confused we know that we will be able to get up day after day and continue on our way with the help of the many people we have by our side. We will start each day with farm fresh eggs and be able to face whatever comes our way.
