Divorced at thirty-five, Mandy Reinhart moves from Oliver Springs, Tennessee, to Lexington, Kentucky. In trying to combat mid-life crisis and the seven-year itch, she has traveled to that state a few times, going to rock concerts. In this time, she has met her new best friend and found a job as a sales associate at a local store that sells records and used books. The one thing she does not want to do: fall in love again.
